4/14/12: Ab Fab Fit continues to grow and progress. I am beginning a nutrition program with the leading provider of fitness nutrition education in the industry, Precision Nutrition. While I am already quite knowledgeable and capable in this subject area, I am a committed life-long learner. I will continue to invest in additional certifications to formalize my training and better myself and my services. My tagline, Nourish Flourish, embodies the spirit of my approach to healthy eating.
4/9/12: Registration is officially open for the Nike Women's Marathon. I have formed TEAM AB FAB FIT, Group ID # 27KX54 because signing up as part of a group increases all our chances of getting in through the random drawing. Whether you want to run 13.1 or do 26.2, be part of TEAM AB FAB FIT. Sign-up here and enter our Group ID when prompted. Bigger is better, the more the merrier. Please share this with all your running friends who want to get into NWM. Yes, men are welcome, too. ;)

3/30/12: Marilyn Monroe once said “Imperfection is beauty, madness is genius and it's better to be absolutely ridiculous than absolutely boring.” Can I get a Thumbs Up on my Facebook post from all those who agree it's better to aim for Absolutely Fabulous?!! Strong is the new skinny.
3/22/12: What a fun coincidence...in the same week that I turned 40, Ab Fab Fit got it's 400th fan on Facebook!!
3/17/12: Wishing you a Happy and Healthy St. Paddy's Day (and wishing myself a Happy Birthday...yes indeed, today is my big 4-Oh. Here's to sporty at 40!) I'd like to share with you the Ab Fab Fit version of an Irish toast:

May you ShamRock a workout or two;
May the sun always shine on your windowpane;
May a rainbow be certain to follow each rain;
May the hand of a friend always be near you;
May God fill your heart with gladness to cheer you. ♥
Strong is the new Lucky! Fit is FAB. ShamRock your workouts and feel like you're worth more than a pot of gold at the end of the rainbow. Wear green, eat greens.

2/5/12: Superbowl Sunday started with a super accomplishment--I raced the Kaiser Half Marathon in 1:50, nearly a personal best. Many of the runners I helped train in Marathon Matt's Superbowl 13.1 program also had superstar finishes. Way to go, runners!!! Here are a few pics from our season:

10/22/11: Ab Fab Fit has a lot to celebrate today, namely our first 100 fab fans and followers on Facebook.This video I made is my way of saying "THANK YOU & welcome"!
10/16/11: Along with 22,000 other women and ~3000 good men, I took to the streets of San Francisco this morning to run the Nike Womens Marathon. What a fantabulous experience. In the 8 years that Nike has been putting on the event, it has raised more than $100million for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society!! NWN'11 is my 4th time running the Nike race. Having a tuxedo-clad firefighter holding a silver platter present me with a beautiful blue Tiffany box with my finisher's "medal" is a thrill!
10/9/11: The launch of Accelerate is now ~6 weeks away. This is a big deal for me. I'm really excited to be building my own brand of fat-blastin' bootcamp.Accelerate on Mondays and Wednesdays will "run" concurrently with Marathon Matt's Touchdown 13.1 on Tuesdays, Thursdays & Saturdays. Battle the bulge this holiday season. Register now for one or both programs and get ready to race on Superbowl Sunday.
10/1/11: October is here, which means the Nike Women's Marathon is nearly afoot. Who's ready to run 13.1, or are you one of the few ready to do 26.2 ? WooHoo! Over the next 2 weeks it's important to make sure that you're as strong and well-conditioned as possible when tapering down mileage. ** Ab Fab Fit is offering discounted personal training sessions to registered participants to take you through run-specific cross-training.**

9/4/11: Run for Remembrance. I recommend you exercise to celebrate life as a way to commemorate the lives lost on 9/11. Who can do 9 sprint intervals and 11 full pushup burpees, or run up 9 flights of stairs and then do 11 minutes of jump rope? Just think of the brave FDNY firefighters who hauled up 80+ flights of stairs in the towers...Dig deep and go hard. Design your own workout set and share details on the Ab Fab Fit Facebook page.

8/20/11: I am so proud to be an Assistant Coach with Marathon Matt. These are pics from the launch of our Halloween 13.1 half marathon training season. We meet Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays at the Marina Green Monkey Bars, and get to run in one of the most beautiful places in the world, with the Golden Gate Bridge as our backdrop.
Given that this season's target races are on the weekend of Halloween, we've got shirts with this hauntingly hot logo. Want to join us next season? Runners of all abilities are welcome to register for our upcoming Winter program, Touchdown 13.1 which launches on November 21. The target race is the Kaiser Half Marathon in SF on Superbowl Sunday. For all you football fans, how fab will it be to run 13.1 in the morning and thus earn an incredible indulgence come game time? |
